I could spin my HST, my STV, and Hydrostream viper at will. They were never deemed unsafe...in fact I just considered it fun, what little freeboard there is kept me in the boat.

look at the video at 22-34sec
it shows the bottom im talking about
the bow or front 1/2 of boat is lower than the transom
then it has a keel following to the underneath iin the front
this is backwards to how all other powerboats are built
the boat naturally bow steers,,,,,,
with u having a controlled on purpose spin is totally different
now add in your daughter on a friends POS fishing boat
and it tosses her out unknowing it was going to happen
I know people that have been tossed in these boats when they 1st came out
so its to me no fun thing to unexpectedly to be backwards,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
while standing up with nothing to hold u in
as stated there is many well built/designed flats boats
then there is pos also like this el pescador

yea they quit making that model many many yrs ago
with all the lawsuits back then to deal with
cannot believe there is still any left out there
if I was a judge back then I would have made builder buy back every 1 to crushem
but guess there is as u can see that boat in vid is old,,,trailer is really bad lookin
now all they make is full tunnels and imagine with a new owner to have no liabiltys of the past

sad part is its the weekend boater that gets hurt
the 1 that is there for a fishing trip or ride not knowing the boat their on
there are some very nice flats boats and then there is the backyard crap
I have seen practically every sailboat made, that ain't no sailboat hull there.

Just a deep forefoot for cutting the chop.

the starting bottom plug was a late 1970s 25 mako hull
cut down the sides
added pocket tunnel to the rear
cut the front nose and narrowed it
and used a front keel that followed about 1/2 way down the bottom
I call it a sailboat design weather is or not as that keel design cuts water and helps to go straight
downfall what they did was make it go lower than the rest of the rear bottom
so it bow steered
when they 1st released them I rode in 1 approx. 20 yrs ago and got out as was rear was walking even going straight in chop
didn't matter how deep u pulled motor down or cup added to prop ,,,bow would not lift so not to bow steer
they sold it pretty quick
repaired many flats boats through the yrs built around here
that 1 particular boat was the worst
