[QUOTE=kilo;4459143]x2 on 39's post. My only other comment would be that you would probably have a more enjoyable experience if you took the "big boat". The lake is 100 miles long and although you plan to move boat ramps it would be much more relaxing to just launch and tour the lake in comfort. Fishtails is good for an afternoon break and its BYOB.[/QUOTE

Ditto on Fishtails, its in Wolf Creek. We eat there 3 times a week when we are there. Can't comment on Cumberland Tap as it opened the day we left this year.

I'd think you have a better time on Cumberland by

A) bringing your boat

B) renting a houseboat and rafting your ski off of it.

Cumberland is a great lake, but different marinas and hot spots are quite a haul depending on where you are starting and how fast you can get there!

How many bars are on the lake?
I was told a couple years back that there wasn't much bar life there...

One currently, till this year there was no bar life. The majority of the counties the lake is in were all dry up until this year. I would expect the larger marinas to start having them by next year. People just know to bring enough adult beverages & gather on the docks, bigger tie ups & houseboats instead of everyone cramming into a bar.

Fishtails is a good meal for sure. We also had a pretty good pizza at state dock.

Since you have the opportunity to move around, I'd suggest a trip over to Dale Hollow lake if you get board. Just a short drive, and actually a much nicer lake to explore on because it lacks the steep rocky sides like Cumberland. Has beaches, and you can buy beer on it... I did both lakes in a week couple years back and wish I would have spent more time on DH after finding it. Just my thoughts.
