If you need a sleeve it has to be sent to US Chrome, they will replate the bore. This is who does it for mercury. If it requires machine work Jim Ruck is the man, if US Chrome need machine work done it is done by him. If any of the above mentioned guys fix the motor properly they are going to send the block to US Chrome, who in turn will send it to Jim Ruck (920)233-3833 for the machine work, then he will send it back to US Chrome for the nicasil plating, and the back the the shop that you deal with for assembly.
The plating process should be about 600 dollers, piston 200 dollers ea (only use merc pistons, the weiscos are JUNK), and I suggest you replace all 6 pistons, as the pistons in the 245/260/280/300 merc hi-performance motors are the weak link, and they should be replaced ever 100 hrs (at about the same time as the rings are worn out).
Add labour to that and bingo..........the cost.
