Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to decide which water towing service is best, either Sea Tow or Boat US.

Here's a little synopsis:

I have a Donzi 38Zx and don't go offshore beyond sight of land; mostly just cruise rivers, lakes, etc. around central Florida, Tampa, Clearwater, and Jacksonville area. My boat is in great shape, but I want the extra protection of towing should I need it for whatever reason. Any suggestions and input is appreciated.

I have the Boat US unlimited plan which includes off the water towing as well. Had to use it for the first time this year and the service was excellent.

I've been happy with BoatUS on the Great Lakes. Been towed in twice over the years.

I live in St Pete and have had boat us since I owned a boat . Knock wood do t use it very often but cheap insurance for piece of mind. A buddy was 23 miles out in my center console couple years ago and the tow in was $2600 on a credit card before coming to get him. Boats break. It's a fact of life.

I've gone with "Sea Tow". Boat US is not very prominent around my area. I have had good experiences with Sea Tow, also heard good things about Boat US. Good luck with who ever you go with.

Been with Boat US since I got my first boat in '94. Knock on wood, only had to use the towing 1 time.

Tough time to find out if they're a real friend or not!

I chose BoatUS when they were having a sale last month, includes in tow coverage as well which my AAA doesn't. Also affords you the West Marine gold membership. THat and the built in (GPS) DSC 25w Vhf for $144 should cover it all.

I would go with who ever has more boats around the area you do most of your boating. I had sea tow the first year of owning my boat. I noticed boatus boats out on the water where I usually go and switched. Luckily I have never needed to use it.
