Might not be fast to most of you but it is to me
After a year and a half of blood, sweat, tears, lots of swear words and thrown tools I have finally got the bugs worked out and see the light at the end of the tunnel. My goal was to make my old school straight bottom triple engine 42' Fountain run over 90 without blowers, headers, surface drives, or any other fancy stuff. Triple 91 octane pump gas 548 cubic inch 675 hp little pigs running through 1.36 Bravos with -2 Imcos. After straightening out water pressure problems I think I am ready to start playing with props and trim/tab settings. Yesterday on relatively flat water with 3/4 tanks of fuel, on a very humid day she ran 85.8 on GPS at 5600 rpms and it was still climbing. It makes its power at 5800-5900. With a light fuel load, some cool fall air, and a nice 1-2 foot chop I know the big tub will crack 90. I know that is nothing to all you step bottom 35-38 foot guys with 700's but this is a 25 year old 11,000 lb antique! I want to thank everyone that helped me with my big white turd and got it to where it is today. 42 feet and 11,000+ lbs of normally aspirated, non-step bottomed, just plain old school 1991 Fountain. I have been patient and have snuck up on it slowly and I see my goal within reach. This boat will run over 90 mph and I will be able to flip off all of the naysayers. Thank you to my engine builder Jim Bersani Jane Arnold Bersani @ JBE, my outdrive guru Jim Raymond, Dan Letiecq @ Jim Raymond Marine Service, my painter David Dillenbeck @ Top Gun Auto & Marine, Reggie Fountain III for having a father who built a killer hull back then, and Bob Madera from Marine Kinetics who spec'd the engine package two years ago. You guys are the bomb! Thanks again for putting up with my demands and stupid ass questions![IMG][/IMG]

Working on that next. New GPS speedo going in this week so we don't have to use a hand held. Keep forgetting to bring my GoPro but it will be on her next time. I am too busy watching three oil pressure and water pressure gauges, and looking out for idiots in kayaks and rental pontoon boats to video anything.
