I don't tell my wife what anything really cost. The only way I can keep track of what I tell her on cost is I take a 0 off the end of every bill or invoice. So if the repair was $2000 I tell her it was $200. Even at that she still thinks Im crazy !!!! As for racing she thinks I make money at it LOL.Thank god she doesn't read these forums.

I'm pretty analytical with tracking all aspects of my finances. If I wanted to add up all the sub categories involved with boating I could.
It's all a matter of priorities. I make other sacrifices to afford/justify boating. I drive an old car, don't travel a lot, wear old clothes, cut my own lawn, etc.
I'm POSITIVE I will NEVER regret spending the money I have on boating.

No McMansion, no $200 jeans, no weekly dinners at Ruth's Chris. Most of my money has been spent on boats, bikes, and good whiskey. The rest I just wasted.
