Default OSO Used Boat Listings

I can not recall the classifieds for used boats being this low,

449 boats listed - What 5 years ago over a 1000 used boats listed. Something like that. Man it has became a lot smaller regardless.

IMO it will get lower in the sportboat used side of things for 15 years old to newer. Especially for 10 years old to newer..

seems like it does this about january every year but i agree the 2008 economy put a lot of boat builders out of business and less used boats because of that.

Anyone know the true sales figures for NEW high performance boats over the years?
I'd love to know how many were sold in 2000-2008 compared to 2009-present time. I think it would be frightening.

I agree. I've been watching for a couple of months, and it's constantly decreasing, especially from the "production" builders.
And there are plenty of boats changing hands that are not in classified ads either.

A few years ago a lot of people were selling because of the "holy sh!t, I've got to get out from under this thing" economy

plus with the decline of new boat sales, coupled with the bottom of the market just getting parted out and crushed.....

Yours sold quick and I don't even think you had yours listed…… I'll have my 37 sometime in the upcoming years but I'm not settling for anything less. Just need to stay on top of the ones you want if that's possible because like you said many aren't listed.

Nor-Tech got somewhere around 43 boat build requests at the FL boat show this fall. 99% CC's.

True, one post in the AT section here on OSO, and I had a couple of serious folks. But one in particular was serious and expeditious.

With the drop off of new boat production starting around 2008 through the last couple years, it makes sense. There are also a lot of people like myself that upgraded to what they wanted and plan on keeping it for a long time. One thing that is good for those of us that own early to mid 2000's boats is that clean, well kept boats should command higher money as there are fewer good used boats on the market.
