Intercom system for poker runs
Just curious as to who uses an intercom in their boat for pleasure running or poker runs? What brands are available, other than Comp-Com?
Are there any other brands that may be less expensive?

Wireless blue tooth intercom from Sampson Racing. Had them for 1.5 seasons and am very happy with them both in Poker Runs and just cruising. IMO, the ability to easily communicate with the person in the left hand seat makes a Poker Run much safer.

I use racing communications , the stereo plays through them also and mutes radio when you speak. I use them every poker run and almost every time I run the boat. No wind noise , no engine noise , and makes talking to the rest of the crew much easier .

I have Comp Comms in my boat. They work great, really like them for poker runs or long runs. The owner of comp comms started another company, Comzilla. Owners name is Tom I think, super nice guy. Not sure on pricing.

Rugged Radios as well. Just got them so have not tried them out yet but they are in a lot of DCB 's as well as many of the top off road truck teams. I talked to a couple of these race teams and they all say they work great. If you can communicate in a trophy truck at 100 miles an hour they should be fine in the boat.

Third on Rugged Radios. They build the units to order and I added the Bluetooth option so when there is no communication music plays from my phone on all the headsets. There is a small learning curve on the settings as you go faster, you will need to dumb the system down for the mic to stay closed in the wind. Price to pay for hands free. You can always get "push to talk" which require exactly what it's called.
