I just happened to see this up here and in the past I have said the 496 was Catalyzed for year model 2008 & up in CA and then again X amount for year models 2010 ( the rest of the USA) until they ran out and was replace by the EC 8.2. For some who said the 496 never had a CAT - here is one of the many. Just saying for the info on top of.
