That's not exactly correct. The purpose built cigarette kilo (that skater laid up) boat had no pad on it. I've spoken with Johnny numerous times about his run in that boat. Never said he wouldnt get back in it at all. Only said it chined at the high 100's but that it had a lot more in it but didn't feel safe. He discussed with skip about putting a pad on it and would've run it again for the record attempt (and most likely would've obtained it) but skip decided he was done spending money on the project.

And if you recall that boats had many many years and has been re-invented a few times since the kilo run. No issues with that boat under 160 mph.

I knew it was something, that's why I said I believe, could have been wrong. Thanks for the knowledge

No, you just get someone to rig your boat with illegal parts.

The kilo skater/cig boat now has flat black on the hull sides. I believe the 46 skater v Tom owned is an entirely different boat.

Does anyone else think the side profile and deck angles are not the best looking? Kinda looks like profile of a Sonic.

I think it's a good looking boat. Its not my style and I wouldn't buy it, but it's not a bad looking boat.

Little too angular for my taste. I guess it's for headroom in cabin
