Default Battleship Run Entering 27th Year On Lake Seneca

This upstate New York event looks to be a gem, https://speedonthewater.com/in-the-n...on-lake-seneca.

Thank you, Padraig, for reaching out.

Thanks for the great article Matt! As the last surviving active charter member of ROPA, I can honestly say I've been there and done that with the club since the very beginning. And the Battleship Run is the club's biggest and best event of the summer. For a low pressure, family friendly, safe, down home good time, you simply cannot beat it!

Yes a great run and this is a nice deep 38 mile long lake so you get some nice long fast runs.

Thanks for the article Matt.

By the way, for those of you that think you have to own a 40' Skater with monster big blocks and #6 drives to enter a run like this, you're very wrong. We had a guy with a jet ski do the entire run one year. (Of course he hasn't been seen since.) We had two guys in a 20' Hydrostream complete the entire run the year we had the absolute nastiest water we've ever seen. (Of course each of them is now 6" shorter and the boat sounded like a bag of crushed Doritos when they put it back on the trailer.) We even had a guy in a 21' Four Winns pace the 50 MPH fleet one year. (We didn't find out until later that he had to run flat out the whole time.) And I run every year in my 22' Progression and have an absolute blast.

So don't let the fact that you have a smaller or slower boat keep you from having a great time!

A great variety of boats, a great venue, and friendly folk make this one of the great runs of the summer.

During a chat yesterday on a website-related issue, our web master, who lives in the Northeast, told me it is "Seneca Lake," not "Lake Seneca." Why didn't you guys correct me? (OK, yeah, I shouldn't have made the mistake in the first place.)

Corrected.

Seneca Lake, Lake Seneca, no big deal, to me. The lake I live on is known both as Chautauqua Lake and Lake Chautauqua since I didn't pay much attention.

Now if President Whiplash had spotted it.......Lord knows what would have happened. LOL

Change that to tried to register....PayPal is not working on the ROPA Website. Hope someone from the club reads this.
