Default 2002 292 fastech exhaust

I am removing my s/t box and have a few concerns. Do I need to change the factory tips? How about water coming back into the engine? How loud will it be? I looked into Corsa tips with baffles is that a good choices and will that stop water from coming back into the engine..

Thanks for the help
Tim

My 2006 292 came with the Corsa tips with baffles and the rubber flaps. It also has the Quick and Quiet which splits the exhaust through the transom and prop. Sounds good. Not too loud and it has a little rumble.

It should have short brass tips with Internal flappers. They are not the best looking things but if you just put some rubber flappers on the ends you can barely see them . Jeff wurl

Thanks. I don't have any video clips, but will try and remember to get a couple short ones while boating this weekend and post them up.

I did find a short clip of one engine running on the hose. The file was too big to upload here, so I just uploaded my first You Tube video. Let's see if it works...

That the sound I am looking for.. Sounds awesome! Thank you so much.. The problem I have now it that I am being told that just the tips will allow water to back up into the engine even with the baffles and flap...This project is giving me such a headache..

Hmmm... Not sure why that would be. My 2006 was the first year they dropped the Silent Thunder box under the swim platform. Maybe adding the Quick & Quiet II is necessary to prevent water backing up. Any water coming up the pipe would just drain down through the prop exhaust.
