Default The New 20’Baja Outlaw Survives The DSM Catalina Crossing!!!

Oh What a morning! For any of you that have had the chance to make the Santa Catalina crossing you will understand the Ultimate Test that this would be on a 20’ Boat. First, about the boat: LOH W/Swim Platform-21’11”, Beam 7’10”, Weight 3000LBS with a 21 Deg. Deadrise. And a Merc.5.0 MPI. The Weather: Snotty, choppy, 3-5 Ft. swells. Larger than I would suggest a novice boat owner to run in offshore in!!! John Grooms and Myself started at 8:00AM at Dana Point Harbor. The boat ran between 45-53MPH across the 33mile channel pulling into Avalon Harbor at 8:52AM That included two stops for an overall inspection of the boat. We took pictures in Avalon and started back at 9:10AM We saw 50-57 MPH GPS on the way back (Again, Two stops for inspection) We arrived Back in Dana Point Harbor at 9:53AM. We took the boat threw the paces outside of the Harbor with a few Hard (Very Hard)Turns at speed and the boat stuck to the water like glue. Overall for a Loaded $29,900 Boat including Tandem axle, Disc brake, alloy wheel, swing away tongue trailer And 5 year warranty on the Boat, This is the most Bang for your buck that offshore enthusiast has seen in a long time. Ill post pictures from the trip once downloaded.

I was in a meeting to. I went to Catalina and met about 12 Dolphin next to the boat. Here is a pic to give you an Idea what these little rockets look like. And no, that is not the trailer they come with

Cat-
Lucky for you I take deposites over the phone! I would run this boat stock for awhile before trying to get more out of it. "If you think it runs too slow, Put it in bigger water!"
