Default What Happened? Poof.........

Did I dream this or was there a very critical post regarding a Skater customer who bought a NEW 388? I ask because as we all know, there are at least 3 sides to every story. Skater seems to be a company that enjoys a very loyal following of people that know their sh!t and routinely risk their lives in the product and frankly, I've never seen or heard anything remotely close to what was recently posted, so one has to ask; how does a company with a history like Skater stay in business with customer service as t was described? I also wonder about the seemingly petty issues. Would Lee Aerospace refuse to warranty a problem? Why? The interior issue brings up a question- when one is buying a boat like this, do they not ALL choose, touch and feel stuff like upholstery material? OR WAS THIS ALL A DREAM?

If you look on the list of General Discussion topics you'll come across the title and it says the OP asked for it to be deleted. And it was.

Thread starter asked for it to be deleted.

It is/was a NEW boat when delivered to the starter.

Yes Skater will warrantee any tank problem that arises from a problem with the tank from manufacturing it or using fuel that it was designed to hold. The tanks from any boat manufacture that were laminated before they started putting ethanol in the fuel will deteriorate it,it was not just a Skater problem, it was all boats, cruisers, ect.. Any Skater that has not ran ethanol fuel is fine. There are several 20 year old skaters that the tanks are fine but they have never put ethanol fuel in them, most have ran on race gas so they don't have to worry about it.

You cannot design something that is future proof. tomorrow they could come out with a new additive that eats the new tanks. But there is nothing you can do about future problems. Even if you had aluminum tanks they could put something in the fuel that would eat them too.
