Ford Hop Ups
Getting my permit yesterday, my parents are goning to sell me a 1993 Ford Thunderbird 5.0 that they dont use much. I was wondering if anyone knew what will need to be replaced on the car first then if you know any aftermarket places for parts.
1993 Ford Thunderbird LX coupe.
5.0 235hp, 300ft/lb
Auto tranny what about a ratchet shifer??
What should be done first? a rebuld? It has 151,000 miles on it, so new rings and gaskets cant hurt.
Thanks for any info
Tommy
It does pull the baja now, just needs some more for that bigger boat...

Change the oil, filters, plugs, trans and diff fluid. Drive and enjoy. You may get 2-300 k on that motor if properly maintained. You can also get lots of HP parts that are made for the Mustang-most will work on your car.
BUT-the less you spend on the car, the more you can put in to the boat.

Please disregard this thread, i need to kick my self in the head. sometimes we need a reality check on a 36' Apache
but it will pull a 20 foot boat, so maybe, changing all fluid filters, plugs, plug wires and a K&N FIPK and Flow master exhaust (for that V8 rumble next to all my friends 1.6!!!!!!)
the rest of the money will go to a boat. maybe building up the baja or buying a donzi 18 classic....
