saber, we were posting at the same time. I was agreeing with your address to me a few posts above, not the post directly above my pst post. Just want to clear that up. I agree with having little or no government intervention in our lives, that's why I am against liberlism. However, I think your Falwell example flirts with the issue insptech mentioned. As a Christian, I feel we all have to choose. However, I also feel as a Christian I should remind you of the goodness of God and of faith. You can do this safely without imposing or demanding. We all have a choice, that is to be respected, that is what makes us America.

We are the only Country on the planet that can defeat us. If the US ever goes down in flames it will be from the US. Things such as loose borders, underminig law, socialistic ideals, poor defense, hightaxes and overspending, reckless liberal social policy, frivolous lawsuits ruled favorably by liberal judges, opinions of what the laws and constitution reads while not actually doing what it says, and a complete collapse of moral decency and ethical behavior (i.e....funeral service pep rallies). Wow, I sound like a Al Gore speech writer......

Wow, great to see so many like minded individuals. Looks like a couple liberals lurking here though, Shame Shame! I do feel sorry for the Minnesotan's as Mondale will probably win. But, more than that, I feel sorry for the United States. Coleman had a legitimate shot at winning and helping the Republican cause. If we don't get control of the senate, absolutely nothing will happen for the next 2 years. Tom Daschle is a joke. If I had the opportunity to meet him I would be glad to tell him that. I also have to put up with Paul Wellstone's good friend Tom Harkin here in Iowa. He is just as liberal and no one can see it. He votes 100% along party lines and always has. He does not look out for the good of our state. His agenda always has been and will always be to forward his career. He has been in office for 12 years, and his wife is now a lobbyist in DC making over 1 Million dollars/year. I have to agree, term limits are needed.

Would you rather be governed by a person that believes his actions here on earth will determine his eternity, or by one who might not be bothered by such long lasting ramifications?

Catmando, I said there "A" truth and "A" right way. They are not mine. They belong to God Almighty. I don't believe in MY OWN way! I believe in HIS WAY!

Do you believe there a difference between right and wrong Cat?

kamma,

just for arguement- how are you so sure your way is the only way or the right way, maybe it's something else?

that's the problem with some christians, they ASSUME they are correct, with out ANY factual evidence that any other religion could also claim.

you have faith , no proof

Saber28,

The Holy Bible is fact enough. It's God's Word to you and I. It's through God's Word that I take my stand. It all ties in with world history, Dead Sea scrolls, etc, etc, etc. But we still must come by FAITH. The Bible says;

"Now Faith (trust) is the substance (realization) of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6

"Jesus said to him, Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." John 20:29

Those were three verses of God's Word, we can choose either to believe it or not to believe it. It is a choice that God has given to us all. But I will say, God chose for YOU by sending His Son Jesus to make a way of escape for YOU---why? Because He loves us. And because He did that, the ball in our court---it's our move. And that's where we make the decision. We either choose for Him or we choose against Him.

I hope I have answered your question.

kaama,

no you have not.

you have faith that the bible is the truth, ok fine for you.

what about hindu's, muslim's, etc. they all think just like you, that they are right and others are wrong.

basically you have faith that the bible is the truth, no hard evidence that it is.

BTW, i'm not trying to discredit you as much as challenge your thinking

Personally I am not a deeply religious sort BUT having traveled the World alone and there are things that have happened ---- well cannot be easily explained away.

Having spent my life as a perpetual student of science there is a curiosity that has always been there for the answer to the “ultimate question”! The fact of the Matter is that 40% of the Scientific Community believes in God. Good enough for me!!

Again the answer I personally have received from some highly educated people on the Matter is when one considers the “Wonder of it all” from the most primitive life form all the way up to the level of our relationship that is with our Earth and the rest of the Universe as from a viewpoint out in space. For one.

But we have our atheists who make more of the same thru the simple application of covert reinforcements like in Cuba for an example where a small child is told to ask God for Ice-cream than ask Fidel for Ice-cream Simple but effective. They always fail to see the Beauty is in the belief! Not in getting a Magic trick!!!

Personal thoughts here; me myself see we all must DIE and die alone ALL by our lonesome! No not taking the wife, or a Buddy system Here, ALONE! My thinking as the Brain shuts down for that finial Last time I would like very very much to imagine the “Better Place” if that is the case.
