Default Laptop guru's....................question

I'm shopping for a new laptop and wondered if there are any board members selling them or know of some good deals.

I'm looking for at least a pentium 4 or equal. 30gig hard drive,15 inch screen cd/rw,dvd,256 or 512 cache. Windows XP professional operating system.

Anyone have any leads or sell them for a good price??

I know their not cheap, but a little break in price would help!!

Thanks!!!

Latest Laptop Technology = Highest Laptop Prices

If you want to save a buck, go to Dell's refurb website:

http://www.dell.com/us/en/dfb/default.htm

They're running a special on refurbiushed C840's.

Good Luck!

Angry Got Dell?

I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 4150 from Dell; 14.1 monitor; 1.7 P4 (16MB) 256 RAM; XP w/Office; CD, (but no CD burner)...$1,455 delivered...

A price break would have been nice...but like Frequency pointed out...laptops (w/P4) are still "newer technology"...

We've had good luck with Sony's "sale" products. It's all their returned and refirbished computers. Good dollar savings if you don't need absolute top of the line. I think we've had only one problem out of 15 or 20 laptops. And they did fix that problem with another unit.

sony sales

I have a Toshiba 600 mhz (I think) with 512 megs of memory. It's my first laptop and won't be my last. I am very satisfied with it and have had no problems whatsoever with it for over 3 years now and would buy another one in a second!

Sager Laptops. Not well known, but strongly suggested by my computer guy two and a half years ago. Got the best they offered then, it's stock full of good stuff, and has a 15 inch screen, at about half the price of a similar name brand. Still going strong. You should at least look at them before buying.

Default This one is cool as hell.

Not cheap, but cool......P4 too! This laptop is designed by F. A. Porsche, yes, grandson of Ferdinand Porsche.....PorscheDesign isnt the same company that makes the cars, but the design firm founded by F. A. Just about everything they design is cool as hell. Me and my 911 may be a bit partial, but that would be the coolest one to have.
They're gonna be sold through Best Buy.

Link to cool laptop

BTW, I make my living with computers, and have been very happy with my older Dell.
