1984 Scarab S-Type, t-454/425s, Kaama Surface Drives. Best speed since changing engines was 77 mph on GPS going upriver. (But as TinkerBoater says, it may not be broke, but it is still fun to tinker with. )

I ran a 38 Larry Smith all kevlar race boat. It had triples on it with no interior but a three person stand up bolster. I'll see if I still have some pics. The boat was owened by Mike Ragen , President Ronald Ragen's son. He set kilo records or something running up the mississippi and a offshore run up to washington from L.A.area. Mike J knows all about this and I maybe when he gets back from the race he'll enlighten us
Thanks guys I knew we still have some faithfuls out there!!! Nort I also knew that you would come up with some good pics... THANKS....now we need some history from the early days.. 70's 80's didn't Wellcraft have "issues " in the 80's about construction and labor ?? how about the 90's ?? wasn't the 33 AVS. POWERBOAT MAG. Offshore boat of the year?? keep it comming!!!!

Larry Smith is getting back the Scarab molds from Wellcraft. He plans to build custom Scarabs. We partially rigged a 48 step bottom with Tri max drives for the Sema show. We are now finishing it
