well, I guess that settles the long standing debate of “will
a cat roll if it loses an engine at speed?”

Tank, I would think any twin that loses power at speed would get pretty squirrely if the drive suddenly threw the prop into stop position? Anyone ever had that happen?

The further away from the center line that the point of thrust is applied the worse the yaw will be when the thrust is lost.

This was a topic for guardian mode on Passion for Powerboats FB group. Guys with drives up high in v-bottoms and high speed were commenting on instability with guardian taking power out of one engine and not both. I had this happen to me and with side by side engines and deep drives it did nothing....just slowed down. I was going 85 and guardian shut one engine completely down due to hitting a wave and drive fluid coming off the sensor in the reservoir. I just overfill them a bit now, but it completely shut that engine down at full speed. Someone was talking about running 110 in a stagger boat and this being pretty sketchy with the boat on top of the water.

Darr always talked about this Anthony guy like he was Don Aronow. I find it hilarious that they were in that old POS Skater and one guy was on the throttles and the other driving.........

Hopefully the other involved person heals up quickly.

My guess is they were already turning when the engine lost power. I also heard that when the spin started, Darr came out of his seat and landed on A Jr and pinned the throttle on the other engine. Makes sense, but this is just stuff I heard or read and not confirmed.

I know there is a history here, but sure hate to see someone who worked hard to get their boat ready go through that.
