Look forward to these 45, 54, and 65 footers. Hope they take on the styling concept started with the refresh of their 41 GTz.

Crowded segment with Princess, Pershing, Azimut, Sunseeker and others with an established following. It will be interesting but I'll be stunned if then build (and sell) more than 5 boats.

A far cry from their roots. A 45+ foot million dollar yacht with outboards built by and at the Fountain Powerboats facility in Washington, N.C and rebadged a Donzi is not what you think of when it comes to a "Donzi".
I knew this would happen when the name was sold a few years back. I tried to get a few people interested that had the money (it was not that expensive from what I remember) to group up and buy it or even some smaller marine industry family to. Do like they did back in the day and build yourself a legacy and with the head start of a name that already is one. The issue is something like that is a really, really long term investment. Almost generational. More of a status symbol. You are not going to make a killing but you could have put up a steel building on your property and pop out 16's and 18's for the next 1000 years at will. Even if you didnt build a boat eventually you would break even just because your marina happened to be the owner of "Donzi" and the attention it would bring. I guess we all got to old and cautious at the time and let it go by.

As a Donzi enthusiast, I'm very curious. I think their new center console is butt ugly. I cannot see how that will sell very many with so much competition. The 41 GTZ certainly didn't take off, I think they made like 3? The quad engine cat was cool, but don't think that went anywhere. Bringing back the 38 ZRC is awesome, but a sit down 5 person boat with no cabin is only going to be attractive to .1% of performance boaters. The 22 classic is crazy expensive for what it is.

That all being said, seems like a huge risk to invest all the engineering and everything else that goes into creating a new boat, especially a 45, 54, and 65 footer? I have to assume they will be using the same mold, and putting the transom in different places like Nor-Tech does with the 55, 50, and 45 center consoles? Look forward to seeing what they come up with, but will be tough with a name that hasn't been popular since the late 2000's to start competing with low to near mid 7 figure boats.

I would tend to think with the comment about customers not wanting to get pounded by the wind, they are going to be more along the line of the coupes that are coming out of Europe. The new 45 Vanquish with quad 600's will run 70.....

I do not like the blunt bow tug boat appearance. And I will never ever be a fan of the primer gray, keep that in Europe

I'm just talking about the layout with a 3-sided, full width wraparound glass windshield on a twin stepped boat that will run 70+........
