Insurance
Well, I have a question about where to shop for insurance. We currently have State Farm, but they claim our boat is about all they want to insure.
What do people do that have twin 38' boats that do 90+ mph? Where do you go for insurance?

I'm a Commercial Insurance Agent. I specialize in Marinas, Boatbuilders and Boat Dealers.
I have been working on putting together a program for performance boats (that's where my heart is).

Anyone else have any info?
I'm also curious to know if anyone has an 80+ mph 38'ish boat insured with State Farm or Progressive or something. I'm wondering is State Farm is yanking my chain or they seriously don't touch anything over 32' and less than 80 mph.
I've already contacted Sy for some info, but any other places out there?
In another thought, I am self employed, and it was brought up that some insure their boats through their business insurance. I'm not a fan of this method as the business will not own the boat, but, I'm open to options.

I use National Marine Underwiters for my 27 Fountain. Much cheaper than my agent that has my house cars etc. They have an online form for getting a quick quote and they respond within a day with a price based on the info you provide. http://www.nmu.com Good Luck!

I have my boat through State Farm. The agent had to call the underwriters for a waiver. The boat is a 2001 Donzi 38ZX (in case the user name didn't give it away) however the boat does not go over 80 
but they did not ask me about speed. I have also heard some Allstate agents will write performance policies. Lastly, Total Dollar was mentioned as a company with decent rates.

I use Total dollar They are great the best price and Sy understands performance boats.

There are a few links to Hi-Performance Insurance Companies here on "PARTS & ACCESSORIES" page... Total Dollar is very good, but I needed to use Campisano due to the value of my boat. Check them all out...Good Luck!
