virus
Some people posted some links for websites with a program that they could download which would detect worms on their computer. Anybody know where that thread is, or have a link to the sites? I apparently have one on this computer and I need to get rid of it. This isn't a real damaging one, it's just trying to send out a link to some porn pics. Not that that is a bad thing...

Cord -- Try this in Internet Explorer:

When I try to use it in Netscape, it doesn't work.
Just out of curiosity, what is the name of the virus? I just got rid of two yesterday.

Remember that part where I said it didn't work with Netscape?
Even if you don't usually use IE, most computers have it. (Thanks Mr. Gates.) It DOES work with IE. Just checked the link.

Oh, so you mean that if I'm using Netscape that it won't work with Netscape. Oh, ok. Well, what if I tried to use a older version of Netscape?

Cord,
Don't know if this helps but the Housecall site states the following in their FAQ.
"I clicked on the link to get a free scan but nothing happened. What's wrong?
...
HouseCall requires Internet Explorer (version 4.0 or later) or Netscape (version 3.01 or later). HouseCall works more smoothly with Explorer, which supports the ActiveX technology needed to scan your hard drive. The Netscape version of HouseCall requires Java technology which means there is one additional step needed to install HouseCall on your system. If you use a browser that does not support ActiveX, HouseCall will point you to a page where you can download the HouseCall Java installer. Save this file to your desktop, close your browser, double-click the file to run the installation and finally restart your browser.
Alternative: If HouseCall does not work correctly on your PC for any reason, please download a free 30-day trial version of PC-cillin, Trend Micro's antivirus solution for home PC users."
