You WILL feel the lugs on the Swampers. BFG & Goodyear have 37" Radials that ride MUCH better that the Swampers. Not nearly as aggressive. Lifting the dually is easy, it is the tire selection that makes things a little more complicated. Not nearly the choice until you go to larger wheels, ie. 19"-20". Go to THEDIESELSTOP.COM for a wealth of info on the Super Duty dually.

That's what I was thinking on the dually. I just haven't seen that many, so I don't know for sure what I am looking for.

The best advice I could give is to propose to the seller that you be given the opportunity to pull your Top Gun and see for yourself how it works. My boat (30 Eliminator) is no where near as heavy as the Gun, but I have a 32' trailer that weighs 14000lbs. that I pull all over the mountain region and I have no problems with it whatsoever. There is much good advice here, much of it very safety conscientious. Another positive about the SRW truck is ease of driving around when not towing. No, the dually is not that big a deal, but there is a difference. I owned an 01 Super Duty dually and loved it when pulling, but when it came to an everyday driver, well, for me the difference in practicality for every day driving compared to how much towing I did gave the advantage to the SRW truck. In my 02, if a person spends 30% or more of the time pulling heavy loads, the dually all the way. If not, the SRW is a little more practical. Just my 02, I am sure others have different opinions.

Great advice! Given the fact that I don't tow over 20% of my total miles, and I have access to other tow vehicles, I am pretty comfortable with a lifted truck.

Were the gears changed in this truck? What gears are in it? With the weight of your boat and the size of the tires you must have the proper gears.
