Oil Filters And Bow Straps!

I have a 97 F350 PSD that I change my own oil. It is a 2 quart oil filter, and I always fill it up before I screw it on. I also do that with the boat/auto filters to. I know the Mercruiser engines mount the filter upside down, but the OMC are right side up. Do you guys do the same?

Also, when the boat is on the trailer and parked, do you release the bow strap and stern tiedowns? I always do, and I never forget to rehook/cinch the straps because it is part of my routine. I just figure "where is it going to float to when it is on the trailer"! :p :)

I just hang new filters. The boat is mounted upside down, The truck isn't but hell it is still under warranty.:p I loosened my bow strap and transom straps last may and haven't used them since!! Hi and Dri, Got to love it!!!:D

I fill both truck and boat filters part way so I don't spill and I always loosen the tiedowns along with the winch cable after towing.
Sometimes if I don't get her on the trailer perfectly level, side to side, I'll leave the lower side loose and tighten the high side. Since most of the roads in my area are a little rough the boat usually straightens out by the time we get home.
Yes, they're that rough.
