Sounds like they are 280s. I left a pair of plates at Smitty Marine a few years back hoping to sell them. Get in touch with him, he's on the board, if he can find them have him send you one, it's yours.

I`d check the transom real close for damage. I sure hope everything is ok but if not, now is the time to find out. Good luck Roger 1

Let me clarify some (now that I am done being pissed at myself)
It broke the corner off of the (bottom plate) on the starboard side. It was all the way down when it hit, as far as I can see it didnt do any damage to the cylinder or the transom, so I think that I just need a new bottom plate. A lot of people are recomending that I just have it welded back into place. I have never welded (cast) but have plenty of people that can sdo it for me. Do you guys think that a weld job will hold up to the beating that a plane takes or should I just buy a new bottom plate? |
properly beveling the surface and tig welding it is often as strong or stronger than what it was in the first place, most places charge around 30 buck an hour and its less than a hour job, id vote on the weld job and never look back,
