24 carrera
Too Slow,
That boat was made to handle the rough stuff, they were built like tanks. My friend just finished his 82,his got a 540 in it with a 420.The boat handles great and the top speed was 92.Good luck. |
There is a 24' racing in the Great Lakes Silver Cup Series. It races in "A" class. Check out their web site for photos (dont know the site address offhand)
There is also a 24 at Smitty's Marine in Brick NJ that will be racing in P5. |
I have a 79 that got 63 out of the stock 454/330 TRS. I went .030 over with a cam on a rebuild and went up to 66-68. I just replaced the 454 with a 502/415 stock Mercruiser and anticipate 70. It handles great, but can chinewalk when trimmed out. It is a heavy boat (5000 lbs) and can always run with 28' Magnum's in rough water!
