Question Opinions on Volvo Cars

My wife is about to purchase a 2003 Volvo S60 2.4T. Anyone have some info on this car? How about an extended warranty?

Volvo makes good cars. Their servicing is relatively pricey and their after-warranty parts are more expensive than you'd want them to be.

A 100,000 mile full-coverage warranty should cost the dealer less than $900. I'd buy the warranty, but don't pay much over a grand for it.

My Father, who has never owned a foreign car in his life, is leasing one for his wife right now. 2002, same as you described. I was VERY surprised when I drove the car. It has a lot of the same feel as the BMW. The 2.4 winds out a bit to get some serious acceleration, but overall, I think it is a great car.

I''ve got a 2001 V70 with the t5 turbo. Car runs very strong except for a bad turbo lag. All the consumer reports talked about electrical problems, and they were right. The car goes thru light bulbs on a monthly basis. I thing every bulb in my car has burnt out in the 2 years I've owned it. Nice car, very safe, but I wouldn't buy another one.

One of the safest cars on the road. We have hade 6 in the family and not one problem. Change oil, brakes, gas and go.

a friend of mine rolle dnot onebut 2 of them. one he jst basically drove off a road. The road turned he didn't. Both wrecks the cars were totalled. He walked away from both with very minor scrapes and only bruises from the seat belt.

safest damn cars around. (barring perhaps the bmw X5)

Ive got a 67 P1800 in my barn that has been in my family since new(the year I was born)its got over 400 thousand miles on it and has been totaled 3 times......It would still function but something broke in it and my dad lost his mind to alchohol for a few months and forgot what broke, anyway he drove this car my whole life and I'll put it back in order as soon as I get done with some of these boat projects!
