Default my next truck unveiled at the Detroit autoshow

Just got back from wining and dining the auto execs at the detroit autoshow this week and last.

finally made it to the floor.

Ford unveiled my next truck. 2004 F150 supercrew. avalable next summer.

It has a new 3 valve modular 5.4 worth 300 hp. and our (my company's) new interior Rail module system that my team designed.

you can add modules like DVD player, Satellite radio, motorola walkabout recharger bin. black and decker power inverter module, GPS, first aid kit. yaada yada..... just click them into your overhead rail. and take them off whenever you want

anyone have a serious module ideas that would be useful in a truck like this or sport utility. Ford is pushing us to continue our "portfolio" of offerings

we also have some work being done with Thule racks. for interior bike racks, ski racks, pet restraint barriers etc.

Hemi???? who makes that???? just kidding

sorry, had my career started with Ford then GM. and I 've comforted Waterfoul in his numerous Dodge truck woes lately........

really all the trucks coming out are kick a$$

GM had a display upstairs that was quite amusing.

they had an engine dyno demonstration. a techie in a white coat showed how GM does durability testing on thier corvette engines. the dyno ran a wot pull up to 6,0000. the manifolds turned red and the noise was pretty loud. you could feel it in the floor.

I didn't have the heart to tell my gearhead wannabe friend that the engine was not actually running (just an electric motor turning the crank and belts). and they were shining a cervo controlled red light onto the manifolds as the r's increased, and there were 12 subs bolted to the floor to "feel" the power.

it was pretty realisitic for the uninformed........ but the givaway was the 1/2 inch plexiglass between you and the engine flywheel and rotating mass.

I've been down there the opening night and the past three nights myself. My uncle is a GM Exec and there have been some sweet VIP parties!! Driving the new SSR through the streets really turns some heads!! I am pretty dissapointed they only decided to put an uptuned 5.3 in it

I have a deposit on the first Silverado SS that my dealer's getting in, but after looking at it at the show I might change my mind...I do want to feel what 345 horses feels like in an 1/2 ton extended cab though.

Ram, do you work for Johnson Controls??
