Apba Offshore 2003 Schedule
WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK ABOUT THE APBA 2003 SCHEDULE
I THINK IT IS GOOD FOR THOSE PEOPLE THAT LIVE DOWN SOUTH
THERE IS NOTHING UP HERE IN THE NORTH EAST AT ALL EXCEPT
DIVISIONAL RACES OR THE NEW OPA/JERSEY BOYS RACES.APBA
NEEDS TO HAVE SOME EVENTS IN THE NORTH EAST OR THE RACERS WILL GO TO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO RACE.JUST A
LITTLE CURIOUS WHAT SOME OTHER PEOPLE THINK.

Hey Mike, sorry about all the capital letters, will make a change.
Hey Ron P,I do have a couple of questions about your p classes
and how you guys plan on keeping it competetive and not have
guys just sand bagging it but running it hard enough to stay out
in front of the guys you are running against. The other thing I was curious about are you going to have inspectors looking over the equipment making sure that eveything is up to par especially in
reguards to safety.I think what you guys are trying to do is good for the sport especially for the guys in NJ,DE,MD,NY,ETC.Because
the APBA schedule is only good for the guys that live down south, unless you have unlimited money at your disposal for
travel and missed time from your buisness or your job.

Paging the Jersey Boys or Ron P,
When is your next meeting going to be held and where is it going to be.Are you guys going to be affiliated with the Chesapaeke Bay powerboat association because they are a great group of people with alot of quality boats.I think if the two groups were to work together this could grow into something very good for all involved, local and afar.

Well, being that Ron hasn't responded yet, I can answer that all the races posted, are etched in stone. I was recently made aware of the Md. race. I dont think Ron would post it if it was tentative. He would state otherwise. The Jersey Boyz will be gettin together on Feb 22 for our 2002 awards dinner/party. It will be aboard the Princess cruise out of Perth Amboy NJ. If anyone is interested in joining us, speak to or Email Ron P. to see if there is any more room aboard. I believe the fee for the eve is about $87.00 PP. which includes open bar, entertainment and dinner. Im sure much will be discussed about the upcoming season. I must say, that I for one, am extremely excited about the upcoming season and it looks to be a huge success and a hell of a good time.
As far as the rules... to make sure no one is sandbagging, our tech inspectors have a pretty good Idea of how fast any particular boat can go plus or minus. No one will be sandbagging. They will be caught and bumped up. Maybe not the first time but eventually, we will know all the boats and what they are capable of. If we see you racing APBA, and you race P-3, dont come here and try to race P-4. Just be honest. Lets have a good time. Thats what we are here for.
Safety inspections will be similar to APBA/SBI
life jackets , helmets , fire ext in engine compartment and cockpit, 100 feet tow rope, hand pump, bilge pump, kill switches , vhf, padded or removed cleats/hardware and winshield. First aid kit, flares ect...You can download all the rules from www.NJoffshore.com
I guess thats about it...any more questions? feel free to post and any of the BOYZ would be more than happy to help you get motoring.
Look forward to seeing you all in the spring. Hopefully the ice will melt by then.
