Sonic 24ss

Anyone have any info or pics about the 24ss Sonic either outboard or I/O. I read somewhere that they made some of these with twin small blocks?

I had a friend who had a 24SS with twin 2.4EFI Bridgeports. It went very well:eek:

Back in 1995,up at Lake Winnipesaukee, I looked at a 24SS with twin 300 Tempests (300 hp small block) with Alpha SS drives. It also went pretty good

Thanks Biggus, seems like a lot of boat for 24'. How do they handle rough water?

I know there's somebody a OSO that has a 24 w/OB's. I can't remember his handle. He is from Ohio I believe. Maybe he will chime in soon.

I used to own a 24 se with a pair of 200hp mercs on it. The boat went great around 70 mph. My boat had Gil brackets that the motors hung on about 24" off the back of the boat so it gave it a great ride. The boat was a big true 24' boat too. Mine even had a flushable head. The biggest and only problem with mine was the power was older and out dated so had troubles with that but other than that it was a great boat.

Matt
I had one for about 6 years before I bought my 33. It's simply an incredible boat. I had twin Merc 200's on Gil brackets. I ran it all over the Chesapeake in all kinds of water. On one of the early poker runs I organized for CBPBA we had some nasty water blow up overnight, so I made the decision to send the the boats out the next day in two groups...little boats(30'or less) went in the first group and the bigger boats went next. The water was so rough that if someone got into trouble hopefully someone in one of the bigger boats would come along to help them out. One of the guys who had a 32 Baja looked at me after the first group left and asked me why I didn't go with them. I told him I wouldn't have to that the Sonic would handle it. Ended up running the next leg with a 12M Fountain. When we got to the next stop the Baja owner said he was running behind me and that he stuffed his boat yet I was able to run with the 12M. I would encourage anyone to buy the 24 Sonic either with I/O or O/B power. As a matter of fact I've regretted selling mine many times. Good Luck
