I'd post this in technical, but I know most of you post in General...
I'm new to this one, so I'm looking for some input..

I put in 55 gallons at the local gas station (FYI Boat ran great before). Went for an hour and noticed Starboard engine had a fluctuating tach at 1000RPM.
I figured just crappy gas, like low octane. Boat ran OK at 3,500 + rpm.
I went to flush the engines when the boat was back on the trailer. Starboard engine was a little slow to start, and the port engine wouldn't light at all.

So, I changed the fuel filters last night. Starboard engine lit off OK. Port engine needed quite a bit of starting fluid to get going. (I hate to have to use it)
Got it running, but I can tell she isn't so happy.
I did put two bottles of dry gas in the tank as well.
Do I put the boat in the water and try to run it hard to move this gas through, and then change the filters again? or do I put another 25 gallons of 93 octane from another station in first?
Motors are '99 502 Magnums.

I had 8 years on my old boat and never had to deal with bad gas, and now I have a twin engine boat with bad gas...

how old are your filters? and where did you get the gas from? the cheaper ma-n-pa places i would be a little bit worried about....but if its a bigger chain with high volume going through it then i would be surprised if they gave you bad gas....
I would just follow the instructions on the gas dry bottle and get a few extra fuel/water filters and keep changing them till you are happy you got the water out of there.....its cheaper to spend the money on filters then it is to have an engine rebuilt!!!

I have dealt with this before and you may be better off just pumping out the gas .

This problem is more common then you think. You may have a large portion of water. Pump some into a clear jar, not using the filter. Water will be easy to see. you will most likey find a good bit of dirt and junk as well. If there is a large portion of water it would be best to drain your tanks. After they are empty dump 5ga of alcohol in and pump that out also. Install new filters and give it a try. I would carry spare filters for awhile.

Any body know where I can get it pumped out???
I'd rather not drain it onto the parking lot..

I think a pump out may be in order, as there may be 50-75 gallons in the tank. I just can't afford to buy two new 502s..

if it is water or bad gas I wouldn't run any more through the motors than you have to try running them off a seperate gas can with new gas if they run cherry I'd pump all that gas out and top off every lawn mower and weedwacker you've got.

The gentleman that did mine was called Ataboy fuel cleaning services,We were in miami and he did a heck of a job .Filters out the water and puts the gas back in.All 130 gallons of it minis the 2 gallons of water.Give me a call if you like 704-634-9004

What did Ataboy charge you??
Did you use the water to wash your boat, or take a shower???

It was about 300 dollars but keep in mind he saved my fuel . No the water was to salty.

The water should go to the bottom of the tank. Try letting it settle then pump from the bottom of the tank until you can tell there is more gas than H2O. It is worth a try.
