One easy way to solve this problem is to take a scrub pad (scotch brite works well) and put water on it and scrub the surface. If you do get any blush this will take it off and you will have no problems. This is of course assuming you use a epoxy of some quality. Again epoxy on polyester you are fine, polyester on epoxy you want to try and avoid, vinalester on epoxy is ussually ok but still not the best. That is how it has been explained to me anyhow.

The best way to stop this from happening again is to grind until the crack is gone. Then use strips of fiberglass to fill in the ditch you made. This would also apply to the voids in the lift strakes. You then need to grind, dand and fare the whole mess until it is smooth. We used a blue paint to sand the areas down and that helped us see the dips in the bottom. My bottom was like a road map. We worked on it for over a month and then put a new gel bottom on it. It was tons of grinding and sanding but it was done right. The guy who helped was head of production for Tiara. He knows his stuff and now I do since I was there with him.

Hey Mitch, did you strip the old gel or did you gel over the old stuff? what did you use for resin on the glass?
