Default Old People

I moved to S. Florida in August. I saw the potential disaster here.. I never put one mile on my road bike down here.
I have confidence in my ability, but the old people, and others are just too unpredictable.
I raced off road Enduro, and Hare Scrambles for years..and had a lot less worry doing that!
90% of the people 65+ should NOT be on the road! I could type all day listing the stupid things that I've seen..
But what lawmaker will step up to mandate retesting the seniors??? They know they'd never get reelected..

So the bikes are gone, and now I have one of these money hungry offf shore boats.

Now about those sail boats..

Best of luck to Mike. I know his pain, and would never wish it on another decent american. (would be nice to send Mike's pain to Saddam)

Everybody- say a prayer that he recovers fully and gets back in the boat ASAP. Be sure to include Kim in your prayers. Kim is another OSOer, that has cancer.

Everybody enjoy your weekend, and think about just how lucky you really are.

Lightbulb update......

I just talked to Mikolos and he confirmed that Carter is in serious shape. He is in ICU on a respirator. I contacted Lynn w/ APBA Offshore and she is going to get something released on the APBA Website. Mike Carter was a tenacious inspector w/ APBA and was really respected in the job he did. Carter will have a long road to recovery ahead of him. Big Mike let us know if you hear anything. HANG IN THERE CARTER ! BH

Any news on Carter? I just tried to call Mikolos - ???????? BH
Brian, I got a call from Lisa at about 7:00 this morning. Mike was in surgery until midnight last night. His vitals were not holding steady (losing blood pressure) so they decided to let him rest until this morning. At about 7:30 they took him back into the operating room where he has been ever since. Lisa said the trauma surgeon estimated that he had about a 50/50 chance of losing his left leg. He broke his femur which severed his femoral (?) artery and the leg did not have blood flow for a few hours. They tried last night to bypass the fracture and restore bloodflow to the lower part of the leg but apparently had minimal success. I will keep everybody updated as I hear from Lisa. Hang in there Mikey.

Mike
