The last boat I test drove the owner wanted $100 for gas and time. Gave him the buck, took the ride and said goodbye. Thought it was fair, and I think I'll do the same next boat I sell. Helps keep the tire kickers away.

On my Bullet purchase, out of state and with a broker, had to post a deposit before a sea trial, ended up making the deal. After all I had flown 1500 miles to look so that had to be worth something. On my recent Top Gun purchase, I was dealing with the owner directly. We had settled on a tenative price and I decided to go look. Again out of state and almost 2000 miles away. No up front deposit. I had already decided that if for some reason the boat wasn't for me I was going to pay the owner for his expenses for taking the boat out. Course ended up buying anyway, so moot point. Hard to tell about some of 'em out there tho. Good luck.
John

PS. Haven't sold my Bullet yet, so need to move one or the other of them. Anybody interested? 87 Kevlar TG, w/3s and 572s, or 88 Bullet.

Question Re: I guess I didn't sell the boat this past weekend!!!I"M A SUCKER!!!

Durable thread--over 3 years old but relevant all of us at some point in time.

I have a 2002 PowerQuest 290AE I need to sell. What's proven to be the most effective selling media for you guys (ie: websites, Boat Trader, broker, etc)?

I live in Phoenix AZ area if that makes any difference.
