If somehow he ended up with a boat that does have a V10 Ford or Dodge motor in it, it shore didn't come from Mercruiser. May indeed be hooked to a Mercruiser drive, though.
There's also some V10 diesels out there.
Your bud needs to find out what motor he really has, and then refer to the torque specs for the automotive equivalent (unless its a bog old V10 diesel, then he should call the mfr tech line).

skater did a 32 with a pair of marinized v 10 s hooked to bravoes its running around in sarasota area the owner of lake cumberland marine i think owns it they were viper motors
