I'll stick with my auto L.A.R Grizzley .45 WinMag, But the .454 Casul is the king of the revlovers. those Thompson Contenders are nice but they are a single shot, Nice for the serious range shooter and hunter but useless for home protection unless you have X-Ray vision and can take out the intruder from a couple of rooms away

My Kimber .45 goes everywhere i go......Without a doubt my
favorite piece.

Those T.C. Contenders are sweet ! But I guess I just like the
"traditional" 6 shooters. {To much John Wayne-Clint Eastwood I
Guess...& Yes,I have a 44 mag model 29.. }

Yes I agree for home defence the 454 is overkill ,I carry a glock 40 model 27 shorty or a model 29 I've had for years I love wheel Guns !! for home defence I like shotguns 12ga. triple 0,buck or even a 410 with #4's these have easy second shot chances which with nerves and most of us don;t pratice alot is important
most of us think we'rre JOHN Wayne but we're not so we need the second or third shot ,
a model 29 is tough on second shots even us big 300 pounders ,so get something you and the lucky lady can shoot over and over 38,40 ect.

just my 2cents worth

cop who sold me my model 27 {.40} said....I trust my life to
a glock !! Most reliable foolproof carry gun made.

Better watch those Glocks!!! I shoot with some REAL good shots on Mondays and the gun that jams the most is the glock. I have run THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of rounds through my Sig 226 and have NEVER had a missfire or jam.

I had a Freedom Arms 454 Casull and have loading data, etc. if anyone needs info. That gun will definitely rock you on your heels. I was pushing a 260 gr bullet over 2000 fps, and had some 300 gr flat-nose jaketed bullets that would probably incapacitate an intruder.

I have all three of the Desert Eagles, .357,.44 and .50 cal. Just showing any of them to an intruder is enpugh to scare them to death with out firing a shot. Otto

I assume you are talking about the new one. I have one of the composit frame ones. I also have a older plated 38special gun that is the older version of the new 357. IMO I carry the older gun. They are both TOTALLY inaccurate for anything over 20 feet. We call it the gut gun. I carry it in my pocket when I feel I need it and god forbid I ever need it I will never remove it from my pocket. I will just shoot it through my cloths. The 357 is EXTREAMLY light and has one hell of a kick. You have to remember with that thing the bullets weigh more then the gun itself!!! Fun to shoot as the gun really rises up a lot but you can bring it right back down because it is so light.

Hey NICE ASS ROFLMAO!!!!!!

You will REALLY like the 357 or if you can find the older 38 special I think that is a better gun but they are both GREAT carry guns. I VERY rarely carry so it is a great choice for me as it is a suprise gun. I do not like to carry it is certainly a AWSOME responsibility and I ahve to know that I am NOT going to be drinking or anything to even consider having it with me.
