My son Darren and Phil Lewis of NNRT had a lengthy meeting today about the possibility of offering a 5 tape series on the History of Offshore Racing. The source would be NNRT's 237 race
library spanning from 1977 to 1997.
The series would cover among other things:
1. Most of the top personalities in the sport including interviews with such notables as Don Aronow, Al Copeland, Bob Kaiser, Bobby Moore, the young Joey Imprescia, Steve Curtis and JT, Harold "Smitty" Smith, Billy Sirois, Ben Kramer, Mark and Chris Lavin, Fabio Buzzi, Bob Idoni, Peter Hledin, Bobby Saccenti, Howard Arneson and literally hundreds more
2. In depth reviews of the technical advancements in hull and hardware development over the key 20 years in performance boat history.
3. The best and closest racing duels in some of the wildest water imaginable.
4. An "in perspective" narration.....by an "obsolete" announcer.
5. Additional access to NNRT's album of over 500 aerial still photographs of some of the most famous hulls and teams in the annals of the sport.
Suggested price for each tape in the series will be approximately $69.95..
What do y'all think?........You can make this happen......or ......give the idea a decent burial.
Thanks in advance for your responses pro or con.

YES....YES...YES If I wasn't in a medical field I'd be a history teacher. If I wasn't a performance boater I don't know what the hell I'd do with my time and energy for play. DVD, watch it on TV / watch it on computer...last forever, an excellent investment. Got to have as much of the original sound (engines) and voice as possible for the "historical" feel. The thought of watching all that classic footage...and the boats...and the personalities...SIGN ME UP !
