It was Lake Pontchartrain and the year was 1990 if I remember right. I was out there in a 28 cabin cruiser watching and it was bad. the race was black flagged because it was so rough.

Sure wish I took more pictures back then.
I got to thinking back when we started going to the Tickfaw 200 PokerRun and going to Jeagers (New Orleans) all rafted up "lunch stop then" Seeing Copeland making some blow by's in the turbine boat out front, Left there headed to the Chicken Drop,That was a small hole!! All the boats up in there,Then watching the Chicken poop.I remember Copeland had a outboard engine steering/parking in the tight places,Guessing it was a forward only boat.Then Leaving there pretty much racing back to Charlie's, that was a real 200 mile HARD Run!!
That brings up Al"s memorial party and seeing Charlie there.He always had a smile.RIP

It was New Orleans. There was only on race the Joe Mach and Smithy stood the boat up, Great video on it.
We had the hull and deck joint opening in the front of the boat, so we could not risk stuffing and peeling the deck off and so we went slow... turns out slow and steady out survived enough boats to get third.
That was supposed to be a calm water race, Oh well.
Smithy described the launch in the air to me and if you watch the video, you will see that he saves the boat by applying full throttle as it trips, still wrecked the drive trim.

The vid I saw it stood straight up!! We were close to shore,it was right before it came buy us, After it broke a drive it was shooting a hell of a rooster tail,at the time we didn't know what happened,it was luck it didn't go over. The vid I took would make ya sea sick,They said it was 4-5ft and 6ft. The 6 ft would splash over the nose of my scarab. Didn't help much we stayed out all night at pat O'Brien's

Ok what year did Alcone Motorsports spin out in the first turn Biloxi Mississippi infornt of the President Casino. Maybe against Allweise?
I remember The Jelly Belly bean boat/Talon, now the green boat running OPA up north.
I remember getting jelly beans from tem in the pits,
Also Fountain had a new cat, I saw him take a chainsaw/saw and cut the tunnel tab off.
