Default PSD's and mileage

OK you guys with the PSD's...how's your mileage towing and not towing? I'm looking for more truck and can't make up my mind as to Chevy BB , diesel or Ford PSD. Particularly since diesel is higher than premium gas and WAY higher than regular Can't finger that one out

My first question is what is it you'll be towing.... If you don't need the power of the diesel, go with the gas.... THe 6.0 and the BB are great motors.... I have an 02 F350 psd, auto 4wd xcab shortbed.... 18mpg on highway.... towing 6500lb rig 12 with hills, 14 flat lands.... pulls like a SOB.... first Ford I ever owned..... didn't go with the Chevy based on the amount of room the Ford cab has..... The Chevy, I felt like I was still driving my 99 Yukon... I felt like Chevy put all the room in the xcab area.... I'm 6'2" and the Ford is extremely comfortable for the long trips.... Good luck....

My buddy pulls a 9000lb rig with the 6.0 chevy and it does the job, but it really has to work on the hills, but again it does the job and it's 4-5k less than the diesel and he gets good gas milage with it.... The BB gas milage is another story, so I'm told....

ECB,
Yeah I've owned BB's and I know first hand of the milage
Loaded I'm pulling about 7500 lbs with a Tahoe currently. Flatland OK but went to NH last summer and ran the ball$ off it in the mountains

Ken, why are you so much lower? I'm found a 99 f350 xcab shortbed SRW.

I'll be driving this 22 miles each way to work and with diesel now higher than premium I was just wondering if the fuel mileage would offset the higher fuel cost

Pulling my 6500lbs, I smoked the rear in my 99 Yukon going to Smith Mt. Lake..... With the F350 Diesel, I don't even know it's back there.... it's like I'm pulling a jetski....

I don't know. I fill it up, reset my trip odometer, drive, fill it up, divide my milage by the gallons I put in. Maybe I am doing it wrong?
