21....for best results, get a commercial grade loop carpet....easy to clean and will last for years....28 oz. more than enough....fairly inexpensive. Make sure it is 100% nylon with an Action Back...this makes your carpet completely synthetic. If it gets wet or damp, just pull it out, hose it down, vacume and let dry. This type of carpet will not rot, shrink or have mildew!
Just go to your local carpet store and look at the Commercial folders...they will have every color, design and grade imaginable. Should run you around ten to $12 a yard. For a mid size offshore boat, the carpet should run around $150 if they have to order it. Chances are that the carpet store can have a lining put on the edges and cut to the interior specs of your boat...the finished product should look like it was factory made. Best of luck. DMan |
40 oz professionally speaking. I use R&R Textiles for all my carpet jobs. Glue down or snap-in cockpit. I cant give you a url but just try their name with no symbols. something like rrtextiles will get you there for sure with a w.w.w. in front and a dot com behind it
