look
All Im sayin is ...its a cool truck that works beautifull with a 10k boat/trailer package.
Great tax write down to boot (over 7k lbs) Looks like a tonka truck., H2 316 hp torque 360lbs ford psd. 275-327hp dep on 6-7.3litre 4-500ft lbs of torque hp is about the same..... torque on 7.3 modle170lbs higher but its not just a tow vehicle and the 4 wheel drive all the time gets the power to the road. It's probably not ideal to pull a battleship like a 42 sonic (50,000lbs) :D :D just kiddin. but it works for me. little tougher then an avg suv and a little pizzaz to boot. Maximus lapse- I am up for a boat race :p |
No
Im with scott b.. 52K is too much for that mail jeep..

The Sonic is a lover not a fighter and on it's way out the door,I am shoping for a new OL in the 42-47 range, I won't buy until I find one that will go 100 mph plus, so if the race can be in the water I want let's go. I'll call when the waves are at 5 feet!

My 7.3 PS came with over 500 lbs of torque, that is a ****load more than 316 lbs. Torque is all I care about when it comes to pulling anything. The SD's and X's are solid axles which I prefer for strength especially when lifted. The H2 is more capable stock off road, which I like cause I go wheeling also. For me not offering a diesel is the problem, so until then I would not want one. They do look sweet lifted though. Having said that I love my X.
Sounds like for you Gerard the H2 would be great! Hope all is well, take care bro. Carl |
originally the H2 was to be built on a 3/4 ton suburban frame and have independent rear suspension. i saw a few prototypes with the independent rear suspension and thought the new H2 would be super SWEET. since they dumped the independent rear, it's just not as cool as it could have or should have been

I'm not sure what kind of a truck / SUV you need, but VW is coming out with one this summer or fall. It shares platform with the new Porshce Cayenne. It'll be introduced w/ a 6.0 liter W12 gas engine (420hp, 405lb-ft) and will be followed by a 5.0 liter V10 turbo-diesel (313hp, 553lb-ft). I've attached this link for more info.

Don't do it!!! :D :D :D :D He'll be crying when I pass his ass going out to Havasu with the new 6.0L diesel Excursion! The friggin H2 is a poodle accessory! http://www.scopeinfo.com/images/2003...f/DSC00004.jpg http://www.scopeinfo.com/images/2003...f/DSC00005.jpg |
For what it is
two different animals.
Lapse - until you get your new OL ..... as for the 5 footers. yada yada yada....You go break your equipment up. I'll wave as I pass you broken down. pair of 1000's in a 42 should be able to keep up with me. See you on the other side of a hundred. Trout- you are a 100% correct the H2 is not a "long hauler" but excellent for in state and around town. Braking- anyone know the specs on rotor size between the two vehicles? never really worry about it .4 large disc brakes and 4 (6) brakes on the trailer. I see your point though.
