NYS Governor George Pataki is accepting calls TODAY AND TODAY ONLY to get peoples feelings regarding a proposed bill that will significantly change the Early Intervention Program. My wife is a teacher of children with special needs, primarily Autism. She and a friend went in to business together to provide these much needed services to unserpriveleged and poor families. She works with children 0-3 years of age. As you may know most states are facing HUGE budget shortfalls and this is a program that they are targeting. Unfortunately, if the bill goes through she will virtually be put out of business and these families will be without services. To describe this bill in its entirety would probably crash the OSO servers. If you have time today would you PLEASE call 518-474-7516 and simply state that you are calling to voice your opposition to the proposed Early Intervention Bill. They will simply ask for your zip code. If you live in NY just give them your zip, if you live outside NY use 12309 or 12801.
