Default Leaving Tomorrow

My son and I are leaving tomorrow afternoon for Maryland to pickup the Sonic. It will be a 750-mile trip one way. The truck has been tuned up, tires rotated, transmission fluid and oil changed. All I need now is fair weather and good luck.

Looking forward to seeing it. Take it slow and enjoy the scenery.

Sorry QS, I wish I could help ya.

How long are you staying? Have a safe trip.
Bring tools, lug nut wrench, bearing grease, a jack, and whatever else you can think of. There is a Trailer Shop a few hundred feet from OP, and you may want to pick up a couple bearings, studs, and lug nuts. Could not hurt to bring some chain or ratchet staps in case of blowout emergency, (tie axle up). The trailer looked in good shape when I was there, but anything can happen on a trip like that.

P.S.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike between Pittsburgh and Breezewood, (where you pick up I-70) SUCKS ASS. 55mph speed limit, lots of curves and construction, and lots of cops.

I recommend taking 79 south from Pittsburgh, to 68 east across WV and the panhandle of Maryland, all the way until you meet 70 (about 25 miles before Hagerstown). Take 70 all the way to Baltimore, and take 695 south around Baltimore, to 97 south toward Annapolis. 97 gets you to Rte 50 east right thru Annapolis into Grasonville.
(You can cut down Rt 2 south from Baltimore and get to 50 east, but I have never been on that road. (97 South to Rt 100 East, to Rt 2 south.))

This keeps you away from DC and the DC 495 beltway. Baltimore traffic is bad (watch your rush hours in Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Annapolis), but not as bad as DC. The roads really suck here in DC. If you have more questions, give me a shout. I will PM you my number.

Brian

I understand your concern about that trailer. It’s a piece of junk. I ordered a new Myco that Harry will drop it on after the sea trial. The Myco will never touch salt water. I will bring plenty of tools and tape anyway. You never know what will happen. Thanks for the info on the route. I'm close to the trucks weight limit with this one. I need a smooth, flat, cop free road.

Thanks everyone for the good luck and advise.
