Tampa Bay Area Question

Looks like I am being transfered to Tampa. Would like some info on boat clubs, cell phone providers and broadband internet providers. Good and bad any info helpful. Thanks, great site you have here, glad I found it.

You lucky dog.

Tampa area is great. And, there are alot of members here from the area. I am about an hour north so I'm probably not the best one to answer your questions but I know the area fairly well and congratulate you on your move.

OPBAFL.org seems to be a really active boat club in the area. Several members from there on this board also. They have some poker runs and gatherings all the time.

My cousin in Tampa uses Roadrunner for his broadband.

Good luck.

Welcome to the board!
Where are you coming from? What kind of boat do you have?

Tampa is a great place to live, work and boat. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

There are an endless number of places to go boating, tie-up, grab lunch and a drink on the water and islands to hang out on.

The OPBA(Offshore Power Boat Association of Florida)
http://www.opbafl.org/ is a great local club. They do many events throughout the year.

As far as cell phone companies, Verizon and Cingular get the best coverage locally in my opinion, though opinions will differ. If you want broadband, I'd go with Roadrunner from Advance/Newhouse, formerly known as Time Warner.

Any other specifics? I live in St, Pete right across the bay!

You'll love it here - a boater's paradise.

Who do you work for? Small business community here - lots of good people.

If you want to live on the water look at Pinellas County (St. Pete, Tierra Verde, etc.). If you don't mind being a few minutes from the water but in the heart of the action, look at South Tampa.

Cell service? I'm a long time AT&T customer - good service.

Send a me a PM and I will give you my contact info.

Good luck on the move.
