I have wondered and asked for years what brand the old Bud Dry boat was. So, WHAT IS IT:confused:

Looks like a 40 foot skater. have a poster of it at home. It was a four seater.

Skater......and that picture was taken in Lake Michigan at the Waukegan (Chicago) race in the early 90's...... I believe Augie Busch IV and Jeff Sofer were in the cockpits.....soon after that the Busch family pulled the plug on Augie's racing.

Yes it was one of the first 40's. It was powered by the Turbo Craft engines by Bruce Falls, the same motors were later in How Sweet It Is. It was VERY fast till it broke. They later converted this boat to #6 drive because they used to get the drives out of whack alot. In the end this boat won some races.

Do you happen to know how much power Bruce Falls engines were making back in the day? Also do you know how many cubic inch they had per engine? Believe these are the same engines mentioned in one of Sharke's photo threads,.......all the plumbing in the lifter valley,..turbos etc. Thanks for any insight Jon |
