Default OT - Car won't crank over

Thought battery was dead in 93 Taurus SHO, so we had it jumped and we were able to drive home. Try starting again and it did w/no problem. Shut off and tried starting - dead - no cranking either.

Bought new battery, istalled, started right up. Shut off try to restart - dead...no cranking, just sounds like electrical clicking but not the starter clicking.

Don't have any ideals. If it was the fuel pump, it would crank over. Do I have an electrical short somewhere?

Help from the mechanics please!!!!

I know the reason. It needs a (chevy) bowtie on the front.

Have you checked out the thread, "The story behind your OSO screen name"? If not, you should and explain yours!

I agree with the bowtie theory. But I think its just a solenoid or the starter has a dead spot. Try jumping across the solenoid. Or perhaps trading in on a nice new Monte Carlo would help.

yayayaya on the Chevy...I'm looking for a new car now.

As for the name, it came about from a guys weekend at Put-N-Bay...something along the lines of a Camel Toe, but worse...so it was a funny saying we used all weekend!!! Even have a hand shake for it

Did you make sure that your battery terminals were good and clean? Also make sure you have good cables and grounds. Not sure why but Fords seem to be SUPER sensitive to the cables going bad. I just went through the same thing with my F-250.

Does the key turn easier than normal or does it bind at all? There is a peice oc linkage in the column that connects the tumbler to the ignition switch and they come apart sometimes. Worth a try!
