White Knuckles Holds On for Marathon Offshore Gran Prix
Last Race in 3/4 Canopy, Team buys In M’Ocean Again

Ft. Lauderdale, Fl - - Hold On… That’s the story with the White Knuckles/Hyannis Auto Collision Super Cat Light Team. The APBA Offshore GMC Pro Grade Series contenders have decided to step up their program by moving to another boat, formerly known as In M’Ocean Again, last years National Champion, which means they are retiring their 3/4 Canopy Skater.
"We wanted to go faster, and to do that safely, we wanted to go with a fully enclosed canopy boat. Teamed with Mercury 525hp engines, we feel we can be at the front of the pack this year," said John Trotto, Owner/Throttleman, who along with Driver, Troy Wood, will campaign the new boat beginning at the Savannah Offshore Gran Prix.
The team, from Hyannis, Massachusetts is part of the Competitive EDGE Marine Teams, under the direction of Steven Schmidt. Trotto and driver, Troy Wood will join fellow Comp Edge Marine Team members, Harwich Concrete Block F2-57 in Marathon.
Harwich, owned and throttled by Chris Wickstrom, also from Massachusetts, was picked by Powerboat Magazine as their choice for first place in the Factory 2 class, an honor he and veteran driver, Lute Dickey plan to live up to. In fact, Dickey brought home an impressive 2nd place finish in Daytona, and with Wickstrom returning to the sticks, they are hopeful for their first checkered flag of the season.
Trotto and Wood hope that their team will join them in Victory Lane in Marathon after finishing a respectable fourth out of seven in Daytona. "We bought a winning boat. Now we have to live up to its record," Trotto added.
Both teams will compete in the entire APBA Offshore GMC Pro Grade Series, as well as the Ft. Lauderdale Offshore Gran Prix, and the Key West World Championships.
Competitive EDGE Marine Crew Chief, Jason Bonowicz, will campaign the White Knuckles Super Cat Light program, and fellow CEM Crew Chief, Pat Cross will head up the program for Harwich Concrete Block. Dr. Gerardo Santiago will also rejoin the fleet for the Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa and Key West Race events. For more information on the Competitive EDGE Marine Teams, visit www.compedgemarine.com.
