Savannah, GA - June 3rd 2003

Come join the Lowcountry Powerboat Club for the Annual July 4th Poker Run in beautiful Savannah Georgia. The poker run weekend runs in conjunction
with the APBA offshore races and it’s packed full of high performance excitement. This is a first class poker run and we have all the bases covered with food, prizes aerial photos and the best offshore racing. The event gets started Thursday night with the captains meeting. The poker run is on Friday July 4th and the awards dinner is Friday night followed by great Savannah 4th of July fireworks launched right adjacent to the Westin. The weekend continues with Saturday and Sunday APBA Racing Action, racing events and parties.

Accommodations for the both the race teams and poker run teams are at the luxurious Westin Savannah Resort, the official resort of the Savannah APBA races. The race pits are right next-door and all race meetings, awards dinners and ceremonies are conveniently located here at the Westin Resort. Dockage for the Poker Run Boats is also right at the Westin and makes for the perfect venue for the July 4th’ activities. During the day the APBA racers will be running speed trials right on the Savannah River directly in front of the Westin Resort. Sit poolside and listen to the roar of the big boys . . . And remember the famed Savannah nightlife is just a short ferry across the river so it’s sure to be on everyone’s to do list during this great offshore weekend.

On Friday, all Poker Run participants enjoy a 70 mile poker run that has card stops at beautiful Hilton Head Island and at several of the area’s choice Marinas for the refueling of your boat and your crew!! Special discounts have been arranged exclusively for our Poker Run so you will get the service, prices and quality you deserve. The run includes both river legs and an offshore leg so there is something for everyone including great aerial photos and video.
The club has arranged for helicopter coverage for all participants and it’s included as part of your event. A special thanks goes out to our sponsors for making this happen.

The Run continues with an exclusive Wassaw Island Rendezvous, which includes the traditional Lowcountry Boil lunch served right up on the private beach. After the Friday poker run the excitement continues on both Saturday and Sunday with the APBA offshore races at nearby Tybee Island. Poker Run participants are invited to play an active role as race course patrol and our poker run sponsors have the chance to pace the start of the races. If comfort and relaxation is your choice you can enjoy VIP seating inside the official race clubhouse. A full bar, ice cold A/C, and the best seats in the house are included for all poker run participants. This year’s competition is bigger than ever and beautiful Tybee Island makes for a great setting for the two days of national offshore APBA Racing.

This fabulous weekend event is topped off with the Awards Night Dinner. There are trophies and prizes for the winning hands and the best poker run boats in their respective classes. The annual July 4th poker run is all about the fun of southern style offshore performance. It’s just the right speed . . . just the right size . . . for just about everyone . . .

Man that looks like a great time. I wish I trusted my trailer and tow vehicle enought to go. Maybe we will go up this year to check it out, and try to shoot for next year with new truck, and trailer.

Just to let everyone know the competion last year for the sexiest crew was very competitive. Thongs, woman pulling thier tops off for the helicopter. hope the competion continues this year.
