I can appreciate the "towing" capabilities of a Ski Nautique, but don't you get the snot beaten out of you when going out in the rough stuff to tow someone back in?

Joker is from Lake Lanier
There aint no stinkin waves in Lake Lanier:eek: :D

riskybusiness 05-22-2003 09:05 AM

No waves on Lake Lanier? Average wave height on the weekend would be 2-3's. It's very rough and if the wind blows lookout! I am surprised that you boat EXPERTS didn't catch that my boat is not a Ski Nautique - It's a Barefoot Nautique - totally different hull derived from the Fish Nautique. She rides like a dream - haha - BH

Come on Joker 2-3's?
I'll give you thae fact that it might chop up now and again.
How would you compare to Daytona this year during the race

THEJOKER 05-22-2003 02:01 PM

You have to remember we have thousands of boats running in all directions - some cruisers are 40-50 ft throwing up some huge waves- throw in a windy day and it's bigger than you would think. Just ask the Screamin Eagle throttleman. We demo'd my 28 Joker in some pretty rough stuff. Daytona this year was super flat and Lake Lanier on the weekends is always rough. BH

Never under estimate a lake...... Short steep chop... hard to read... criss cross wave/wake action...sometimes hard to span...heavy traffic of all kinds.

I agree with Joker.

I grew up in Jersey and I'll concede, I remember how the barnegat bay used to get. Very sloppy and unpredictible

I've run Lake Lanier a number of times, including the Poker Run when there are quite a few boats on it. It really can get rough!

For my Malibu Sunsetter LXI ski boat......

Yes lakes can get rough, like the Great Lakes, Lanier come on!
