I just got back from the test drive. We hit a whopping 38 Mph (gps) I am still laughing about the deal. I have never seen salesperson and owner so rude in my life. The boat was all fine except the steering cable was way sloppy. The dealer blew the deal over not agreeing on replacing the cable. All about a 100 dollar item on a Overpriced used boat (7900.00) I could not believe it!

Thanks fo rthe help.

I've always heard as long as you are getting the right rpm's then the compression should be fine. Also, just listen to it run at different rpm and see how it sounds.

Western: Never guage compression without a compression guage! The motor might be weak and underpropped to compensate (unfortunately people are sneaky).

On an outboard, or any other two-stroke engine for that matter, compression is the most important criteria of the engine's condition.

Ray: 'Hard to believe anyone would be so clueless as to sacrifice the deal over such an easy fix. 'Sounds to me like you're better off anyway!

I have a problem doing business with people who don't deserve it. There are plenty of others who do.

Better luck next time!:)
